The European Commissioner for Defence and Space, Andrius Kubilius, stated this Friday at the Forum Europa in Brussels that "it's time for us to stand on our own two feet" to protect the 450 million citizens that make up the EU.

Andrius Kubilius urged promoting European security autonomy at a briefing organized by the New Economy Forum in the EU capital, in light of Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine and the US administration's shift in its stance toward the EU following the arrival of Donald Trump.

The European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Implementation and Simplification, Valdis Dombrovskis, set competitiveness and security as the priorities of the European Union in relation to the United States, with the new direction that Donald Trump is marking from the White House.

The European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Implementation and Simplification, Valdis Dombrovskis, declared this Friday at the Forum Europa in Brussels that the EU will not release frozen Russian assets until the country pays for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Dombrovskis recalled at this breakfast briefing organised by New Economy Forum in the EU capital that, according to international laws, the aggressor is responsible for the damage it is creating. We will make sure that Russia pays for the damage it is creating in Ukraine, he insisted.

The Executive Vice-president of the European Commission for a Clean, Just and Competitive Transition, Teresa Ribera, maintained this Monday a cautious tone at the Forum Europa in Brussels regarding the return of Donald Trump to the White House, which will materialize in a few hours, and stated that "it does not seem very opportune to think that the best response that can be given to a provocation is to escalate provocations".

The Executive Vice-president of the European Commission for a Clean, Just and Competitive Transition, Teresa Ribera, defended this Monday at the Forum Europa in Brussels that the “many” challenges that exist in matters such as autonomy in energy and raw materials must be addressed, as well as the “devastating consequences” of climate change. “Ignoring these realities is not the way to face the problems. In fact, they will not disappear like this”, she warned.

Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury warned on Friday at Forum Europa in Brussels that Europe’s competitiveness is “at serious risk” and urged the new European Commission to place it at the heart of its agenda.
Speaking at the event organized by Nueva Economía Fórum in Brussels, Faury called for a balanced approach to addressing Europe’s priorities. While emphasising that decarbonisation is the second-highest priority for Airbus, after safety, he stressed that achieving competitiveness must remain central to Europe’s strategy.
