H.E. Ms. Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, was awarded the 2024 Forum Europa Prize by New Economy Forum in a ceremony presided over by H.E. Mr. Pedro Rollán Ojeda, President of the Spanish Senate; H.E. Mr. Cándido Ponde-Pumpido Tourón, President of the Spanish Constitutional Court; and H.E. Mr. José Manuel Albares Bueno, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Spain.

The President of the S&D Group (Socialists and Democrats) in the European Parliament, Iratxe García, said this Thursday at the Forum Europa in Brussels that the "future must be and will be social" and pledged to defend the social model of the European Union.
 
This is what Iratxe García said during the meeting organised by the New Economy Forum in the EU capital, where she introduced the Secretary General of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), Esther Lynch.
