    Indra Group CEO José Vicente de los Mozos defended the advantages of his company's integration with Escribano Mechanical and Engineering (EM&E) at the Forum Europa in Brussels on Thursday and guaranteed "maximum transparency" in response to the possible conflict of interest arising from the fact that its chairman, Ángel Escribano, is co-owner of the military manufacturer.

    During his speech at this informative meeting organised in the EU capital by New Economy Forum, De los Mozos was asked about the progress of the merger with Escribano, one day after it was reported that Indra's minority shareholders had asked the CNMV to investigate the operation due to this hypothetical conflict of interest.

    José Manuel Albares made this statement during the presentation by Indra Group CEO José Vicente de los Mozos at an informative meeting organised by New Economy Forum in the EU capital.

    Albares began by highlighting that Indra is “one of the leading companies in the defence sector in Europe, a global security provider and a benchmark for innovation and excellence”, and considered that today it is a company “at the forefront of a crucial transformation at the most turbulent time in international society in decades”.

    The Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness, Roxana Mînzatu, defended this Wednesday at the Forum Europa in Brussels the European social model as a "competitive advantage" for the EU and announced a minimum investment of 100 billion euros from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) for social objectives between 2028 and 2034.

    During an event organised by New Economy Forum in the EU's capital, Mînzatu stressed that "the European social model is our selling point" and highlighted the need to maintain it as a central element in the digital and green transformation.

    The EU champions training and quality employment to boost competitiveness

    The Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Social Rights and Skills, Roxana Mînzatu, emphasised this Wednesday at the Forum Europa in Brussels the need to strengthen vocational training and digital skills to improve Europe's competitiveness.

    During an event organised by New Economy Forum in the EU's capital, Mînzatu stressed that "the European social model is our strongest competitive advantage in the turbulent times we are going through", although she acknowledged that there are significant challenges in terms of qualifications.

    The Vice-President warned about the decline in basic skills amongst the younger generations and the mismatch between available qualifications and the needs of businesses, particularly in technological sectors and the green transition.

    The EU will present its "first strategy" against poverty next year

    The Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Social Rights, Roxana Mînzatu, announced this Wednesday at the Forum Europa in Brussels that her institution will present its "first" comprehensive strategy against poverty next year, with the aim of eradicating this social problem in the EU by 2050 and lifting 15 million Europeans out of the risk of social exclusion by 2030.


    During an event organised by New Economy Forum in the EU's capital, Mînzatu emphasised that the current situation is "unacceptable", as poverty rates continue to rise, particularly amongst children.

    "Next year we will present a strong message at European level", stated the Vice-President, who stressed that the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has expressed a "strong ambition" to address this problem.
